The Hot Box
I stayed here in October 07 - I have never stayed at the Wynn in Vegas, so was very keen to experience the Wynn in Macau. The building is a mini Wynn Vegas, with a Mini Bellagio fountain display (but still very enjoyable). The entrance is stunning as you can see right through to the pool area past two stunning camels.The reception was quick and easy. Our room was beautiful with the most comfortable bed we have ever had the pleasure to sleep on, massive comfy pillows!The service is stunning with the turn down service putting slippers by your bed and a wynn branded chocolate on your bedside table - nice.Foodwise we only ate in the cafe and the quality was lacking compared to Vegas.The shops were a class (or two) above my wallet! but very nice.The pool and the poolside service were both excellent. The pool is small by Vegas standards but that did not matter as the Chinese don't seem to swim, so it was only a few Aussies and us brits.The gambling area is very spread out, and oozes quality, however I did not have winning session (oh well).We really enjoyed our few days at the Wynn and would recommend it to anyone. Also Macau is a great place to visit Chinese with a European feel and they are very friendly people.
Very nice for Macau when I was there last a year ago. Hotel seemed nice, and nothing to add beyond what is said here other to say they got a nice little cigar shop in the Wynn giftshop.
They have had starts and stop trying to introduce a nightclub. Like most of Macau do not expect much and you will be happy when you get there.
My major complaint here is drink service. Comm'on Steve give me something other than tea and bottled water served by women who looked like the served along side Mao himself. You supposed to be the class of Vegas for god sakes.
A nice thing I can say is they do a good job at restraining, but not controlling the clientele. Its my favorite place to play since the locals are eager, but not down right depressingly desperate or stoic like across the street at the Grand Lisboa or wild and chaotic like Macau was in the old days.
You can't go wrong at Wynn Macau. Great rooms, great service, great restaurants and a fabulous casino. Wynn Macau is an oasis in the madness that is Macau.
